Mr. Raymond “Curtis” Gaulden of Colfax NC went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Hospice of Greensboro’s Beacon Place.
Funeral will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Cecil Donahue and Dr. Suzanne Michael officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Herman Baptist Church Cemetery in Reidsville with Military Honors and Masonic Funeral Rites.
Curtis was born in Ruffin, NC to Albert and Ellen on February 21, 1940. He was a 1958 graduate of Wentworth High School and a 1975 graduate of Jefferson College in Greensboro. Curtis was also a veteran of the Untied States Navy with over ten years of loyal service. He retired from Gilbarco in 1997 after thirty years of service.
Curtis was a faithful member of Center United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Methodist Men and served on various committees. He served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir at various churches he attended over the years. Curtis was also an adjunct chaplain with the Moses Cone Health Systems serving at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
Curtis was also an active Mason for over forty years and Past Master of P. P. Turner Lodge 746 AF and AM, Greensboro, NC.
Before him, the Lord called home his father, Albert Gaulden; grandson, Alex Gaulden; step father, Norman Doyle; brother, Jimmy Doyle; and daughter-in-law, Fara Gaulden.
Mr. Gaulden is survived by the love of his life, best friend, and devoted wife of more than sixty years, Barbara Ann Gaulden of the home; mother, Ellen Gaulden Doyle; sons, Raymond Gaulden, Jr. of Satsuma, FL and Timothy Gaulden of Kernersville; granddaughters, Kaycee Gaulden of Satsuma and Amber Gaulden of Asheville; sisters, Deane Daily of Pelham and Marie Ingram (Gene) of Greensboro.
Curtis also loved his two toy poodles very much, Fifi (now deceased) and Tigger.
The family will receive friends from 11-12 on Tuesday at the church prior to the service.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brad Sherrill, his staff, and the Cancer Center for taking care of Curtis for the past seven years.
