Rachel Leigh (East) West

Mrs. Rachel Leigh West, 52, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.

The family will have a celebration of life on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 3:00-6:00 pm at 2277 W. Lexington Ave. Extension High Point, NC 27262.

Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck East and Kay Murray; brother, Jason East; and her "Mama D & PawPaw".

Rachel loved the beach.  It was her happy place.  There was never a time where we went as a family and she didn’t sing “I’m so happy to be here” with her legs and arms flailing in the air.  If only you could hear it.  She had the most contagious laugh.  She loved the Carolina Panthers.  She loved nature.  She loved her dogs.  She loved her Pepsi.  But most importantly, she loved her family and the Lord.  Her love was unconditional.  She was always the “fun” (Mom, aunt, mama number 2, etc.) but her greatest honor was being a MeeMaw.  She loved her grandbabys to no end.  And they loved her.  She was so strong. She will be missed so much by so many.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jeff West; daughter, Jordan West (Trey); son, Mason West (Casey); grandchildren, Charleigh, Averi, and Elijah; sister, Leslie East; nephew, Vincent; niece, Korie (Dakota); great-nephews, Jackson, Isaiah and Liam; as well as numerous friends whom she loved.
