Rev. James David Phelps, Sr.

Rev. James David Phelps, Sr., age 80, went home to his heavenly Father on Friday September 13, 2024, at his residence, with his loving wife by his side.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.

A native of Guilford County, Mr. Phelps was born to the late Lomer and Hattie Jones Phelps.

James is survived by his loving wife, of sixty-one years, Linda Phelps; son James David Phelps, Jr. (Lisa); daughter Kristi Lea Phelps; brothers Charles Phelps (Virginia), Fred Phelps, and Larry Phelps (Phyllis). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Rachel Phelps, Ryan Phelps, Jessica Lambert (Ethan), and Cory Hinson; great-granddaughter Olivia Lambert.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Southside Baptist Church 1001 Greenhaven Dr. Greensboro, NC 27406.
