Reverend Arthur "Art" J. McGahan

Reverend Arthur “Art” J. McGahan, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2024.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Grace Baptist Tabernacle located at 2646 Orange Grove Rd. Hillsborough, NC with Pastor David Bolick, Pastor John Pritchard, Pastor Barry Miles, Pastor Bobby Meindl, and Pastor Fred Daniel, Jr. taking part in the service.

Rev. McGahan was born August 28, 1934 in Bronx, New York to the late Raymond and Frances Broadhead McGahan. He dedicated over 60 years to pastoring and faithfully serving the Lord.  He started several churches including Tabernacle Baptist Church in Suffolk VA and Grace Baptist Church in Cedar Grove.  Rev. McGahan also pastored Church Street Baptist Church and Belews Creek Baptist Church.  His dedication of spreading the gospel also led him to starting several Bible Colleges.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara McGahan and his brothers, Raymond McGahan and Billy “Edward” McGahan.

Rev. McGahan is survived by his wife, Flora Walton McGahan; daughters, Denise McGahan and Michelle McGahan; grandchildren, Christopher McGahan and Brandon McGahan; brother, Stevie McGahan; and stepdaughters, Linda Ward, Teresa Wagoner, and Wanda Snider.

Private services will be held at a later date.
