Reverend Wade Marvin Cox

Reverend Wade Marvin Cox, 74, passed away February 8, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at George Brothers Funeral  Service. The burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Reverend Cox was born January 29, 1945, in Guilford County to the late George and Annie Rickman Cox. He was formerly employed with United Transmission. He served several churches as pastor, retiring from Forest Lawn Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan McGillis Drake Cox.

He is survived by his son, Johnnie Cox (Brenda) of McLeansville; his daughter, Sarah Cox Hall (Wayne) of Wilmington; grandson, Kevin Sneed; nine step grandchildren, seventeen step great grandchildren and fourteen step great great grandchildren and his brothers, Dennis Cox, Elzan Cox (Connie) and Maynard Cox (Linda).

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
