Richard Lewis Money

Richard Lewis Money, 86, passed away Thursday, November 6th , 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 15th, 2025 at George Brothers Funeral Service at 10:00am with Rev. Patricia Lewis officiating. Burial will be at 12:00pm at Asbury United Methodist Church in Hamptonville, NC.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Helen Lewis Money; wife of 26 years Marie Money; wife Jean Money; and his sister Barbara M. Royal.

Richard was born in Yadkin County, NC. He graduated from West Yadkin High School where he was a standout athlete in football and baseball. He continued his athletic career at Wingate Junior College where he was a member of the 1958 Pine Bowl football team and was a catcher for the baseball team. He graduated from VA Tech with a degree in civil engineering. He spent 60+ years as a successful utility contractor throughout the southeastern United States. In his spare time, He loved to travel in his RV, listen and dance to Beach Music and watch sports.

Mr. Money is survived by his wife Judy Money; children Richard Lewis Money, Jr., Donald Wayne Money (Melissa), and Michael Money (Maria); grandchildren Jessica Winter Money, Eddie Cristobol, Rebecca Money, Freddie Money, and Paige Money; brother-in-law James E. Royal.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, November 14th, 2025 at George Brothers Funeral Home.
