Richard Louis Taylor, 86, of Greensboro died Saturday, April 25, 2026 at his home with his family by his side.
Memorial service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Grace Baptist Church on NC Highway 62 with military honors following the service.
Louis proudly served his country with the United States Army. He was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church. Louis was devoted to his family and worked hard to support them including working as a milk man, owning and operating his own paint company with his son, and working as an Express Mail driver for the United States Post Office. He was an avid Duke fan, and he loved playing golf especially with his son, sons-in-law, and grandsons. Louis was a loving father and grandfather. He will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor.
Louis was a devoted son to his late parents, Lela and Elbert Taylor. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Bud, twin brother Larry, Jerry and Toby Taylor; sister, Virginia Marshall; and grandson, Kevin Williams.
Louis leaves behind his wife of sixty-six years, Pauline Taylor of the home; son, Michael Louis Taylor of Greensboro; daughters, Ann Williams (Steve) of Pleasant Garden, Patti Williams (Craig) of Stokesdale, and Liz Kellum (Chuck) of Jamestown; sisters, Doris Keith and Carol Thomas of Cameron, NC; grandchildren, Chris Taylor (Maghon), Shaun Williams (Leslie), Matthew Williams (Rebecca), Michelle Williams (Farrahn), Kayleigh Kellum, and Landon Kellum; and great grandchildren, Charlotte Williams, Tanner Williams, Vance Taylor, Cameron Williams, and Kendall Williams.
