Ricky Allen Capps, 61, of Greensboro, NC went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 1, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at George Brothers Funeral Service. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service.
He was preceded in death by parents Howard Zeno Capps and Clara Josephine Stanley.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 40 years, Laura Beth Watson Capps; son, Kevin Allen Capps (Kati); daughter, Kelly Anne Capps Rodriguez (Luis); granddaughters, Lilly Anne Rodriguez and Layla Jean Rodriguez; grandsons, Karter Allen Capps and Kado Allen Capps; brother, Ken Capps (Labree); sister, Barbara Lewellyn; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ricky loved hunting, fishing, listening to music, playing the guitar and harmonica. He started working in the steel fabrication industry at the age of 18. His contribution to the steel industry can be found across North Carolina and beyond. Some of his work included: Durham Bulls Stadium, Wachovia Tower in Winston-Salem, DPAC Arts Center in Durham, Duke University French Science Center, Bell Tower Parking Deck at UNC, Health Science Building at ECU, Virginia Tech Research Building, Bank of America Corporate Center in Charlotte where he worked on all 60 floors (which is still the tallest building in North Carolina).
