Roger J. Walker

Mr. Roger J. Walker, 77, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Duke University Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Brett Seawell and Pastor David Neff officiating.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Pastor CL and Margaret Walker; brother, Richard Walker; infant sister, Emily Walker; and first wife, Jaqueline Carpenter Walker.

Roger was a strong Christian who served as deacon in several churches over the years, loved to sing in the choir, and was a dedicated member of the Gideon organization.  He enjoyed spending his time, golfing, fishing and loved being “PawPaw”.

He is survived by his wife of 34.5 years, Elaine Walker; son, Marc Helton (Amanda); son, Byron Helton; son, Tim Walker; daughter, Angela Allen (Paul); grandchildren, Aubrey, Paul, and Mekenzie; sister, Glenda George; sister, Mary Hudgins (Tom); as well several nieces, nephews, family members and friends whom he loved.

The family will receive friends on July 11, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
