Ronald Dale Mitchell

Ronald “Ronnie” Mitchell, 56, of Sophia passed from this life on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

A native of Guilford county, born and raised in Greensboro. Ronnie worked hard his entire life providing for his family. He was employed with Allen Displays for many years prior to taking a leap of faith and starting his own business to provide a better life for his wife and son.

Ronnie was the owner and operator of a highly successful furniture business, Thomasville Distributors, when the economy hit a low point and his business suffered, Ron was able to persevere through hard work and struggle to create another successful business along with his wife who worked by his side that he passed on to his son Matthew, Mitchells Tree service.  

He was a loving husband and father that made life better for all who knew him. Ronnie never met a stranger, and was always thought of highly by those who knew him. He was always quick to help those in need, and showed compassion and kindness to people that many would overlook or had given up on.

Ronnie was a believer in Jesus Christ and passed on his beliefs to his son and his grandchildren. “No matter what, always believe in God. I have seen miracles with my own eyes, things that shouldn’t be possible, but God made them happen.” Ronnie often told his son Matthew who now tells his children.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Norma Jean Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Michelle Mitchell of the home; son, Matthew Mitchell (Laurie); step-son, Lee Puckett; brothers, Sid and Joe Mitchell; grandchildren, Luke and John Mitchell, Noah and Alyssa Puckett and; along with his k-9 companions, Molly and Tucker.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 pm Friday at the funeral home prior to the service at the funeral home.

Funeral will be 2:30 PM Friday, July 31, 2020 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
