Roy Edgar Poore, Jr.

Mr. Roy Edgar Poore, Jr., 81, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning, July 10, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, Randleman, NC with Pastor Marvin Patterson officiating.

A native of Saltville, Va., Roy served his country in the United States Air Force for 6 years, and was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church where he served God in many ways.  He was self-employed in many endeavors in his early life, and later started Automatic Transmission Exchange which he had for many years.  He could fix anything, and he also hauled show cars for Roush Fenway Racing.  He was a good and loving father and husband who loved to spend his time fishing, messing with old cars and motorcycles, riding horses, and he was a Carolina Panthers fan.

Mr. Poore is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Helen Alderman Poore; son, Warren Poore (Lisa); son, Phil Poore (Angie); daughter, Terry Godard (Ray); step-son, Chris Belton (Tony); step-daughter, Kim Vaughn (Randy); four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters; and host of family and friends whom he loved.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
