Mr. Samuel Wayne Harvell, 74, of Browns Summit, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 with his loving family by his side.
Funeral service will be held 11:00am Thursday, May 9, 2024 at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Craig Peak officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home prior to the service and also following the service at the home of Curtis Harvell at 6635A High Rock Rd. Browns Summit, NC 27214.
Mr. Harvell was born in Guilford County to the late James Wilton Harvell and Elsie Mae Tuttle Harvell. Samuel was a man always ready to help those around him without any complaints. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends who became family. He also enjoyed vacations to the beach, visiting Alaska, and working on his cars. He loved all western shows and movies, especially those starring John Wayne. Mr. Harvell was dearly loved by all who knew him and his presence will be greatly missed by so many.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Harvell.
Surviving family includes his wife of 55 years, Imogene Clapp Harvell; sons Curtis Harvell and Mike Harvell; granddaughter Brandi Long (Michael); great-grandchildren Christopher Long, Ashlyn Long, and Noah Long. Also surviving are many extended family members and dear friends.
