Mr. Burcham was born in Radford, VA on February 25, 1945 to the late Rev. S.M. Burcham and Veatrice E. Wilcoxen Burcham. They moved the family to Greensboro when he was a child. After graduating from Grimsley High School, his career began as an HVAC Designer/Engineer and spanned 57 hard working years. For 31 years he served at A.C. Corp, 16 years with P.I. Mechanical and 10 years at Christman Co. where he retired in 2019. He also had the pleasure of working with wonderful people as the Owner/President of D&K Service for a number of years. Sanders loved the Lord first and foremost. He was a member at Four Seasons Chapel, Westover Church, Praise and Worship Center, Hope Christian Fellowship and Rehobeth Baptist Church over the years. He has helped and served others his entire life. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them cheering on his favorite NC State Wolfpack who he supported through the Wolfpack Club since the 1970’s and the Washington Redskins. Sanders and Becky lovingly opened their home for over 20 years to care for dozens of children in foster care. He took great pleasure in supporting his children and grandchildren by cheering them on at sporting and musical events. In his younger years, Sanders also enjoyed hunting and golfing. He was known as a true jack of all trades. Mr. Burcham was a licensed contractor in Air Conditioning-Heating-Plumbing and also held an Unlimited Electrical license. He was a member of the N.C. Society of Engineers and a lifetime member of A.S.H.R.A.E. & Greensboro Engineers Club.
Mr. Burcham is survived by his loving wife of over 58 years, Becky Burcham, and devoted children Jason Burcham (Renee, mother of his children), Jerome Burcham (Shannon) and Rebecca Reese (Scott) in addition to 7 beautiful grandchildren Reagan, Harrison, Allyson, Grace, and Olivia Burcham along with Mackayla and Burcham Reese. He is also survived by his brother Lavin Burcham (Loretta), sister-in-law Nancy Burcham and a host of nieces and nephews, all of the Greensboro area. In addition to his parents, Sanders was preceded in death by his brothers Mackie Burcham (Thelma, mother of his children) and Teddy Burcham, Sr. and sister Rita Guthrie (Edward).
