Seavy Collier Obituary

Mr. Seavy Weldon Collier, 87, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:00 am in the chapel at George Brothers Funeral Service located at 803 Greenhaven Dr. Greesnboro, NC 27406 with Reverend Ellen Spruill officiating and being assisted by Reverend George Coates.  Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mr. Collier was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth Collier; one infant son; five brothers; and two sisters.

Seavy was an electrician for over forty years, and was a member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), was an avid nature lover, enjoyed animals, volunteering, and spent his free time working in his garden and doing carpentry work.  He loved his family and friends and was very generous with his time and talents to anyone who was in need.

He is survived by one son; two daughters; brother, Larry H. Collier (Lynne), of Rockingham County; sister, Mavis Collier, of Kissimmee, FL; sister in law, Foncine Collier, of Greensboro; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends whom he loved.  Thanks to all of the Staff who cared for him at Richland Place Assisted Living in Greensboro.

The family will receive friends following the committal at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Audubon Society.
