Shelby Jean (Jones) Britt

Shelby Jean Jones Britt passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Westchester Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 15, 2023, at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Joe Horrell officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Shelby was born on July 28, 1940, in Guilford County to the late Robert Samuel Jones and Blidie Eva Mabe Jones. She was a faithful member of Plainview Baptist Church and was retired from Roses in Greensboro on Summit Avenue. She was a spitfire who was not afraid to say whatever was on her mind. She loved her family more than anything in the world. Although she loved both her daughters and sons-in-law, her favorites were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even toward the end, her face would light up a room when she got to see them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wallace F. Britt.

Survivors include her daughters, Dawn Cutts (Chip) of Archdale and Sharol Sumrell (Chip) of Clemmons; her three grandchildren, Brittany Parson (Danny), Michael Cutts (Hannah) and Skylar Sumrell and her three great grandchildren, Ainsley Amanda Parson, Cassidy Rae Parson and Earley Gene Parson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
