Shirley Jane (Bowman) Davis

Shirley Jane Bowman Davis, 71, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at Caswell House.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday August 9th, 2025 at Plainview Baptist Church 1820 Mt. Hope Church Rd. McLeansville, NC 27301 with Pastor William Willard officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the church prior to the service.

Shirley was born in Guilford County, NC to the late Elmer Arnold and Nellie Fryar Bowman. She retired from the textiles industry with many years of service in several positions. Shirley was a member of Plainview Baptist Church for over 50 years. When not working or attending church functions, she loved to crochet, work in her garden, complete word search puzzles, and sing gospel hymns. Shirley also loved any time she got to spend with her family and was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Glenn “Pete” Davis and a sister, Mary Bowman.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Nellie Priddy (Joey), Glenda Tatum (Chris), and Christy Ann Adkins; grandchildren Pamela, Skyler, Hunter, Logan, Gleanna, and Jazmine; great-grandchildren Damien, Amberlynn, Scarlett, Hazel, Harper, Kaeson, and Annalyse; and sister Elizabeth Swain. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Authoracare Collective and Caswell House, especially to Charles and Vivian.
