Shirley Starr, age 74, beloved wife, mother, and nana went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, June 14, 2024 at McLeansville Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Starr was born December 11, 1949 in Guilford County to the late Kenneth Rickman and Ruby Breedlove Moriarty. She was a lifelong member of McLeansville Baptist Church, where she loved her church family deeply. She worked alongside her husband as his secretary for Rudy Starr Electric for many years. Shirley had a love for shopping, and an endless love for her grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Rickman and Pete Rickman.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Raymond “Rudy” S. Starr; children, Terri Starr, Quint Starr (Kim), Jay Starr (Jeannie), and Shannon Lewis (Donnie); grandchildren, Whitney Follis (Eric), Chase Starr (Megan), Chase Lewis, Wyatt Starr and Zane Starr; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tucker and Lily; stepmother, Velma Rickman; and brother, Chuck Joyce.
