Mrs. Stella Newman Hennis, 73, of Greensboro, departed this earth to go to Heaven on April 14, 2026.
In keeping with Stella’s wishes, the family will be having a private memorial service.
Stella was born on August 14, 1952, in Guilford County, to the late John Willard Newman and Savannah Lawson Newman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Lyn Hennis and her brother, Ronald Newman.
Stella graduated from Sumner High School and then attended Guilford Technical Community College. She was employed with the Guilford County Register of Deeds and then with Greensboro College for 16 years in the Student Activities Department. She was a member at Vickrey Chapel Church where she was know for her wonderful cake making abilities. She loved anything to do with the outdoors especially tending to her flowers and also enjoyed mowing the yard. Most of all, she will be remembered as being the best “Nana” in the world to her grandsons.
Stella is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Jefferson Hennis, Jr.; her beloved son, Adam Hennis (Alycia) and her precious grandsons, Nolan Hennis, Liam Hennis and Colin Hennis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Stella’s memory to Vickrey Chapel Church.
