Susan Koutsky passed quietly into the reality of Heaven on Sunday, May 31, the day after her 79th birthday.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Allen and Lynn Long, and her grandson, Jamie Long.
She was lovingly known as “Sue-Sue” by her brother and his wife, Harlie and Kellie Miller, as well as their children, Houston Miller and MaKayla Grizenko, and their families. Susan was a 1964 graduate of Northeast Guilford High School, from which she retained several lifelong friends. Her work history included Burlington Industries, in the accounting department, and as a jewelry entrepreneur. She was a longtime member of Gospel Baptist Church, Greensboro, where, when able, she was involved with the
Super Seniors and the Day-5 Fellowship. She will always be remembered for her sweet, caring personality and her eagerness to help others in their time of need. She enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with any and all of her family, especially at the mountain retreat near Galax, Virginia.
The family would like to express its gratitude to all the loved ones and dear friends who visited her over the last several months. In your own way, each one offered support, lifted prayers, and shared smiles and memories, which always made Susan smile. Special thanks from all the family to AuthoraCare, and to Sara, for their compassionate attention once her health began to decline.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Susan’s memory to AuthoraCare Collective of Greensboro (www.authoracare.org/give/donate-online) or to Gospel Baptist Church, Day-5 Fellowship (www.gospelbc.org).
A memorial service will be scheduled for Gospel Baptist Church at a later date. Keep checking back to this page for those details.
