Sylvia Crawford Morgan, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.
A private memorial committal service will be held at Hickory Chapel Cemetery in High Point, North Carolina.
Sylvia was born, in Guilford County, to Clarence Clifford and Bertha Hester Crawford. She was a member of Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church and a retired accountant/bookkeeper.
She grew up loved by her mother and four sisters in Jamestown in close proximity to other family members. She considered her second family to be her aunt Moz and three cousins; Linda (Bunny), Norman (Butch), and Merilyn (Cookie). She would frequently tell her children and grandchildren stories about her childhood and how much she loved growing up with her mom, sisters, aunt Moz, and her cousins. She enjoyed working in her garden and tending to flowers, her favorite being pink roses. She also loved cooking her famous vegetable beef soup and was an avid Tarheel fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Betty Seward, Bobbie Hill, and Doris Porter.
She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Abram Kirkman and Stacy Bateman. In addition to her grandchildren, she is survived by her children Joy Elaine Kirkman and William David Kirkman; and sister Sheila Clodfelter. Also surviving are numerous extended family members.
