Vince Burroughs

Vincent Lee Burroughs, 66, of Greensboro, died Friday, June 14, 2024 at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

Funeral will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Gospel Baptist Church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Vince was a long-time resident of Greensboro where he was a graduate of Ben L. Smith High School, Class of ’76.  His post high-school/college education was in Business, Management, and Instruction Skillsets. A man of many talents, Vince excelled at everything he put his mind to. His career in the HVAC industry included both AC Corporation and Carrier Corporation, where Vince eventually retired in March 2023. Vince had a gift for communicating, being a mentor to his work colleagues and an advocate for his customers. He was a man of faith and was very involved in ministry with his church, Gospel Baptist, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He had a heart of service to his church and neighbors alike, offering advice and guidance. He was devoted to his family and friends. Over the years, many of his friends became “like family” to him. One of his favorite hobbies was camping, from the mountains to the coast. Throughout the years, he shared wonderful memories and many adventures with his family and camping buddies. He had the gift of hospitality, and enjoyed having cookout’s and celebrating with the special people in his life. He loved to snow ski and water ski over the years. And he was an avid Duke Blue Devils fan. He was a gifted gardener and had quite the green thumb. He truly loved landscaping. His yard was always pristine and filled with beautiful flowers. Vince never met a stranger. He had an outgoing personality and an infectious laugh that put everyone around him at ease. He will be greatly missed by his church family, work family, friends, and loved ones alike. He touched so many people throughout his life, his love and generosity will always be remembered. Most importantly, his love and deep abiding faith in the Lord Jesus will always be his legacy.

Vince is preceded in death by his father, Floyd W. Burroughs.
He leaves behind his wife, Gina Harris Burroughs of the home; daughter, Cori Leigh Burroughs; mother, Geneva Burroughs; sisters, Linette Williams and Karen Haley (Mike); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Danny Harris (Martha), Linda Waters (Donnie), Tim Harris (Lynn) and Kent Harris along with a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM at the church prior to the service.
