Mrs. Ethel “Virginia” Bohannon Snead, 91, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Guilford House in Greensboro.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service with Reverend David Longobardo officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Snead was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Lois Bohannon; brother, Donald Bohannon; and sister, Essie Shelton.
As a child, Virginia was a tom boy and loved the outdoors. That passion changed when she had a family. She was a hard worker and on her own raised her three children well. Virginia loved her family and was committed to the church. She knew Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and is now in His presence for eternity. She was a former member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church in Durham and Christ Covenant Church in Greensboro; secretary for Hackney, Knott, and Sears Architects in Durham; and secretary for Covenant Christian Day School for 16 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki S. Beale (John); sons, Selvin Farrell Snead II and Timothy DuVal Snead (Jennifer); grandchildren, Stephen Snead, John David Beale, Jeff Beale, Valerie Beale, Mandie Beale, and Dalton Snead; great-grandchildren, Aurora Snead, Coral Snead, James Michael Beale, and Elizabeth Beale; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends whom she loved.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
