Von “Janice” Parrott Gaines, 70, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 3:00pm at George Brothers Funeral Service.

Janice was born in Beauregard, LA to the late Uther and Eva Bailey Parrott. She worked as a dietary aide for many years. She previously attended True Light Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family going to yard sales and was lovingly known as “Niecy” and “Nana” to many family members and friends. She also enjoyed gardening when her health allowed, cooking, sewing, crafting, Facebooking, and watching HSN.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Dale Blount; infant daughter Stacy Parrott; and brother Donnie Parrott.

She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Parrott, Staphanie Harris, and Daphanie Droney; grandchildren Brianna Parrott, Brian Parrott (Sydney), James Straw, Sarah Droney, Chris Droney, and Jalen Parrott; siblings, Gervis Parrott (Lois), Dennis Parrott, David Parrott (Cheryl), Donna Parrott, and Dervis “Monk” Parrott; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
