Wanda Kay Campbell Massengale passed away June 2, 2026 after a battle with Glioblastoma.
She was born May 3, 1948 to Lawrence Julian and Pauline Liner Campbell. She graduated from Ben L. Smith High School in 1966. She worked as a design consultant for Thalhimers Department Store, taught preschool and 1st grade at Maranatha Christian Academy, and then was a supervisor in child nutrition for the Guilford County School System.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ron Massengale; daughter Christine Massengale (Robert Hodge); sons Burt Massengale (Allison) and Luke Massengale; grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Peyton, Reed, Justice, Jake, Crosby, Blake and great-grandchildren, Astrid, Judah, Luke, and Isla, who all referred to her as “DoMama.”
A celebration of life will be held at George Brothers Funeral Service, 803 Greenhaven Dr. Greensboro, NC 27406 on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 2:00pm. The family will receive guests from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service.
