Born on March 19th, 1938 in Greensboro, NC, Paul had a deep love for mechanics, often found working on cars in the back yard and teaching his grandsons to follow in his footsteps. He also enjoyed taking care of his 2 cats, Tippy and Spotty, and soaking up the sun from the front porch rocking chair. In addition to his love for working on cars, Paul was a proud member of Masonic Lodge #76 where he was a Past Master and treasurer and a dedicated usher at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel for many years.
Paul proudly served his country in the Marine Reserves from 1954-1958 and the the United States Navy active duty, where he served for 4 years from 1958-1962. After his military service, Paul obtained a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and then continued his journey of public service, working for the United States Postal Service for 32 years.
Paul was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and he will be remembered for his fierce determination, loyalty, and tough spirit. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Amos, his children Eddie Amos and Angela Champion (Carl). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, who loved him dearly.
A graveside service will be held at Guilford Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 18th at 3pm, where family, friends, and loved ones will gather to celebrate his life and honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shannon Hills Bible Chapel or Mountain Top Youth Camp.
