We feel sure William (Buddy) Samuel Loftis, 72, now has a huge farm with a beautiful mansion in Heaven. After fighting so hard to beat Leukemia, a rare disease took him from us on November 16, 2023.
Buddy worked many years for WRE/ColorTech and when he wasn't working there, he was busy somewhere! He was a jack-of-all-trades and could do most anything and he loved to help others. Buddy enjoyed being in the woods, walking, hunting or just sitting and listening to the wind rustling the leaves in the trees. He especially loved hunting with his sons and grandsons. Although he hasn't ridden in several years, Buddy also loved riding his beautiful Harley. His favorite motorcycle time was spent riding around with his buddies giving out presents in less fortunate communities at Christmas. Buddy was a hardworking, good man and he will be missed by many! He was a proud U.S. Marine veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
Buddy leaves behind his sons, William (Sonny) Samuel (wife Christy) and Joseph Todd (wife Charity) and his daughter Collyn Marie; grandchildren Blake (wife Kerrington), Karey, Dalton, and Bryson (wife Cheyenne); great grandchildren Riley, Piper and Jaclyn; sisters Ruby Johnson, Joyce Brown (Bobby); brothers, Jeff Loftis (Carolyn) and Johnny. He also leaves behind his best friend, his fur boy Brady! Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, William Silvo Loftis and Minnie Ruth and his beloved granddaughter Pazlie Rayne who we feel sure met him with open arms in Heaven!
The family would like to thank the doctors at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for almost 3 years of care through Buddy's battle with leukemia. When the doctor cries with you, you know it is not just a job. Also, thank you to Ashton Health and Rehabilitation and Hospice for helping make Buddy's final days comfortable.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 20, 2023 at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Larry Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will gather at 5513 Greenridge Drive, McLeansville following the service and burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Presents from Pazlie (contact Todd Loftis 336-708- 5929), an organization to honor the memory of Buddy's granddaughter Pazlie, through gifts to families and children at UNC Children's Hospital and Duke Children's Heart Unit.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 – 2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
