William "Bill" Sidney Hawkins III

Mr. William “Bill” Sidney Hawkins, III, 62, of Greensboro, passed away on February 18, 2020. At Moses Cone Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 pm on Saturday at South Elm Street Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2-3:30 prior to the service.

Bill was born February 17, 1958, in Orange County, New York, to the late William Sidney Hawkins, Jr. and his surviving mother, Betty Lorraine Ulrich. He was a proud Deacon of South Elm Street Baptist Church where he was the bass player for the praise team. He received his associates degree from GTCC and was in the process of receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from A&T State University where he was a member of the Honor Society.

Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda Casey Hawkins; his three sons, William Sidney Hawkins, IV, Robert Casey Hawkins and Kendrick Moore Hawkins; a brother, Donald Ulrich (Jennifer); sisters, Betty Senor (Scott) and Cathy Albertson (Bruce) and many other family and friends.
