Wilna (Sellars) Green

Wilna Sellars Green was born May 20, 1925 in Madison County, TN to the late Virgie and Mattie Sellars. Wilna went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 11, 2021. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Green.

Wilna was a beautiful person, loved and adored by all who knew her. She was very active in church and served on the Senior Citizens Ministry, the Ladies Ministry, the Quilting Ministry, the Widows Ministry, the Kitchen Ministry and attended Wednesday morning Bible study regularly. If there was a need, and if she could, she was always ready to step in and volunteer her services! She also volunteered at Urban Ministry.

Wilna left Tennessee and moved to Michigan in 1951. After several years, she relocated to North Carolina to be with her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed jewelry making, quilting and loving on people.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Pollard, Freddie Mathis, Rilla Mathis and Donald Green; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Sharpe Road Church of Christ where she was a member. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm prior to the service at the church. A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 10:00 am in Salisbury National Cemetery.
