Cheryl Denise Phillips Pennington

Cheryl Phillips Pennington (Rummage), 67, of Greensboro died Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Morningview at Irving Park Senior Living Community.

Funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 15, 2015 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Midway Cemetery on Rankin Mill Road.

Cheryl was a graduate of Southeast Guilford High School. She went on to work for Priba Furniture Interiors and then to Wood-Armfield Home Furnishings. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.  She enjoyed seeing her grandchildren participate in sports and other activities and being at the beach with her family.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Phillips and her husband, Jay Pennington.

She is survived by her daughters and son’s in law, Tamra R. Dick (Alan) of Greensboro, NC, Shanon L. Little (Kearns) of Fort Mill, SC, and Erica L. Harder (Brad) of Roanoke, VA; sister, Susan P. Marley (Dale) of Pleasant Garden; and grandchildren, Brenden Dick, Skyler Dick, Madison Little, Tucker Little, Macey Harder, and Drew Harder; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 pm Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the funeral home.

The family extends their thanks and gratitude to Dr. John Russo, the staff at Morningview at Irving Park and the staff at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro for their special care of Cheryl.
