Jody Ray Lewis

Mr. Jody Ray Lewis, 64, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at George Brothers Funeral Service with Dr. Tommy Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Jody was born December 15, 1950 in Danville, VA to the late J.H. “Jake” and Edna Parnell Lewis. He attended Friendship Baptist Church in Elon and proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Brenda Black Lewis; 2 children, Crystal Lewis and Jacob Lewis (Pam Moore); 3 grandchildren, Jody Ellison, Damian and Thomas Lewis; 2 sisters, Debra Bray and Patti Janus (John); a brother, Randy Lewis; 2 sisters-in-law, Pattie McDaniel (Aaron) and Cindy Barnes (Jack); 2 brothers-in-law, Richard Black (Kathy) and Farion Black.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at George Brothers Funeral Service and other times at 140 Alcorn St., Reidsville, NC 27320.
