RJ Barber, 45 of Greensboro
RJ went home to be with his Heavenly Father Sunday, June 22, 2014.  He was a loving Husband, loving Father and a very caring and humble Man, a Good Man with a Big Heart.  He had a passion for helping people and he was a hard- working man.  He devoted his life to providing for his family.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 pm Wednesday at George Brothers Funeral Service.

RJ and his wife Phyllis Barber had been married for 21 years and were high school sweethearts.  Phyllis had picked him out of the year book the summer of 1987 and had her eyes set on him that next school year.  He was a senior and she was a freshman. They met after class one day at Southeast Guilford High School in the commons area.    He became the love of her life and after a few months of "dating" at school, Phyllis finally got courage enough to introduce him to her parents.  Her parents loved RJ very much.  RJ and Phyllis dated for 5 years then married in 1992.  God blessed them with their daughter in 2002.
RJ worked for 14+ years at Thomas Built Buses in High Point as an assembly technician and welder.  He also owned his own company.  He enjoyed working at Kersey Valley Spookywoods as security, maintenance and as their welder and fabricator.  RJ had a God giving talent to create and build anything with just a vision in his head.  He loved to weld and dig in the dirt. His desire was to work and keep things moving forward and to make sure his family had what they needed.

RJ and his family attended Freedom Biker Church of the Triad.  God had done some amazing things in RJ's life while attending this church.  RJ really came to know who his Lord and Savior was during his time of worship at FBC of the Triad.  He served on the security team.  He loved his Jesus and his church family from the bottom of his heart.  RJ, Phyllis and Haley loved riding motorcycles together as a family.   It was his and his families desire to show other people God’s love in the biker community. RJ and Phyllis rode motorcycles together even before they were married. Through the years it had become something that meant a lot to them both and something they loved doing together.

RJ is survived by his wife Phyllis Barber, daughter Haley of the home, mother Ruby Barber of Pleasant Garden, Sisters Emma Jean Moser (Ike Moser) of Wilkesboro, Stella Haga(HT) of Galax, Va., Lois Ozbirn of Texas, brother J.W. Barber (Judy) of Illinois,  and many nieces, nephews, cousins that he dearly loved.

RJ instilled a lot of love in people throughout his life. He will truly and deeply be missed by all who he had crossed paths with.  He was a Child of God and he is with his Heavenly Father rejoicing.  We believe that with all our hearts.  He is enjoying telling Jesus his favorite bible verse:  Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?
We are sure he is up in Heaven saying "It sure is a nice day outside!"    We Love You with All of our Hearts R to the J Barber and will miss and remember you FOREVER!!!! (((((Hugs))))) and Kisses from ALL of US!!!!!
