Betty Allred (Griffin) Wilson

Mrs. Betty Griffin Allred Wilson, 92, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Jones and Mr. Jack Canter officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Betty was born February 2, 1924 in Miami, FL to the late David Mercer Griffin, Jr. and Mattie Owens Griffin. She was an antique dealer and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Senior Club, “E.T.”  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Robert Lee Allred, Sr. and Charles P. Wilson, Jr., a son, Robert Lee Allred, Jr.; a daughter, Gayle Gunter; and 2 grandchildren.

Survivors include 2 sons, William Blair Allred of Greensboro and Thomas E. Allred (Sondra) of Charlotte; a daughter in law, Agnes Allred of Gibsonville; a step daughter in law, Susan Wilson of Asheville; a step daughter, Denise Lloyd (Max) of Chapel Hill; a step son, Mark Wilson of Summerfield; a sister, Margaret Jamison of Dayton, PA; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3812 Groometown Road, Greensboro, NC 27407.
