Jeffery Edward Davis died in at Beacon Place on August 27, 2015 in Greensboro, NC due to complications of lung cancer and COPD. He was 71.

Funeral will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 31 at George Brothers Funeral Service.  Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, SC.

Mr. Davis was born on December 15, 1943 in Queens, NY to his parents, Merle (Red) and Betty Davis. His family moved to Aiken S. C. in the early 50’s where Mr. Davis attended Aiken Day School and graduated with honors from Aiken High School. He achieved the high rank of Eagle Scout in his youth. He went on to graduate with advanced degrees from both the University of South Carolina and Georgia Tech University with focus in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Management.  He went on to a successful career with Union Carbide where he played a pivotal role in the development of many of the plastic compounds still used in plastic injection molding applications today.  He later worked in chemical sales for Morflex, the job facilitated his settling in Greensboro.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling Diane Davis Bailie.

Mr. Davis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Zackary and Vicki Davis of Middleboro, MA; his son, Michael Davis of Seattle, WA; 3 grandchildren: Isabella Davis, Addison Davis, and Levi Davis; Nephew Glover Rushton Bailie III of Augusta, GA as well as his loving friend, Lucy Garrett of Greensboro.
